Enforcing Laws on the Worst Forms of Child Labour (WFCL) (ILO)

It involved gathering information on the prosecution of child labour offences in order to establish the state of the case law and of law enforcement in general in this area; providing technical and/or logistical support to the Attorney General’s Department, the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service and other law-enforcement agencies to carry out strategic prosecutions involving WFCL; identifying and encouraging complaints in WFCL cases, by providing them with legal advice and legal aid, to undertake civil actions to seek redress for violations of their rights; supporting the development of jurisprudence on children’s rights, child protection, child labour and the WFCL and publicizing the prosecution of child labour cases(criminal and civil) for deterrent effect and as a means of encouraging respect for the law in this area.
